Community joins FRYSCs to spread holiday cheer

CCPS’s A December to Remember event was truly unforgettable, a community-wide triumph in the truest sense.

Our FRYSCs (Family Resource Youth Service Centers) were joined by churches, businesses, local groups, school groups, government agencies, and dozens of individuals from across the community to serve more than 935 students.

Families were blessed with food and supplies from our FRYSCs through scores of donations that have poured in for more than a month. The Winchester Police Department gave out toys from their Pack the Cruiser drive.

A December to Remember is just another example of how our school district cannot fully serve students with the best possible experience without support and partnerships in our community. Dozens upon dozens of community partners combined to change the lives of our families and students this holiday season and we can’t begin to list them all.

Shoutout to Central Baptist Church for hosting, Calvary Christian Church for generously providing cleaning supplies to all of our families, the Winchester Police Department for bringing extra holiday cheer to every child with an additional toy, bike, or scooter, and Dairy Queen Grill & Chill on Fulton Road for the discounted breakfast for our volunteers. Thank you to Whiskey & Wiles for capturing all the moments.

Thank you to all our volunteers who helped Thursday through Saturday, as well as student volunteers from GRC Baseball, GRC Football, GRC Girls' Soccer, HOSA, and BETA Club.

A huge CCPS thank you to everyone who made this year’s A December to Remember one for the ages.
