CCPS police ensure school safety

The CCPS Police Force is most definitely a FORCE – a force in safety, positive student relationships, and overall district well-being.

We extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our school resource officers, who work daily to keep our school community safe.

CCPS has an SRO in every school, along with a floater who is available to fill in when someone is out. There is never a time when a school doesn’t have at least one officer present during the school day.

“We walk through the schools and check all the doors, we talk to the kids, and we assist the principals on issues that come up during the day,” said CCPS Policy Chief Keith Mullikin. “Ensuring safety is our number one priority, of course, and all of us really enjoy the relationships we develop with the students.”

We express gratitude to our amazing officer crew, front row, Randy Lacy, Keith Mullikin, Kenny Yarber, Dwayne Green, Ernie Evans; back, Will Mason, Brian Caudill, Kevin Anderson, Kevin Neal, Alex Belcher, Mike Perkins.

“We have a great crew and each officer has more than 25 years of experience in law enforcement,” Mullikin says. “We love being able to guide and make connections with the younger people in the community. We’re able to show them police officers are here to help them and they don’t have to be fearful.”

Thank you, officers, for not only protecting our schools, but for becoming trusted role models and mentors in our students’ lives.
